Faster Reading - Better Reading Comprehension

Let’s begin this endeavor to improve our reading speed and comprehension with an important question. Why? After all, this is the era of television sound-bites, thirty second radio news explanations of complex subjects that few people have the time or the desire to research on their own. And on top of this we have TV comics discussing News as if their mockery of world leaders and newsmakers can be summarized in a few minutes of offhand funny remarks. It’s estimated that shows like the Daily Show and others provide a perspective on world events to over half of the sub-thirty population.  Even more time consuming today is our addiction to video games, internet surfing, and reading and maintaining social websites. Is it any wonder why people who read at an average speed of 250 words per minute simply can’t find the time to read good books,  long reports or training manuals concerning their work or the thousands of words a week required reading for aspiring college graduates?

We’re not going to spend a lot of time trying to convince you that reading at a very rapid pace with good comprehension is a very worthwhile goal. If you’re taking the time to read this you must suspect there would be many benefits to reading five or even more times faster than you now do. Being able to enjoy great books, excel at work or in classes and most of all, being able to keep up and surpass your co-workers in knowledge of your chosen field are a few. With just a small effort over the next few weeks, great benefits belong to those of you who invest a small amount of time daily to mastering the most important personal skill of all. Reading! Please, help yourself to a wonderful, interesting, and satisfying future!
